PJpupp: Since our last blog, the PM2 Dog Agility Team has been so busy, it seems like we are chasing our tails around and around!
Gigi: You are good at chasing your tail, PJ.
PJpupp: I don’t mean REALLY chasing our tails, I mean running around a lot.
Rickie Roo: I don’t have a tail to chase.
Gigi: I do, but I don’t chase it like PJpupp does.
Rickie Roo: LC doesn’t have a tail, either. But Hobo does. Does he chase his tail?
PJpupp: No, he doesn’t, and I’m telling you I did not mean that all of us are chasing our tails. I meant that we have been keeping very busy.
Gigi: We go to lots of dog shows. Sometimes mommy gets lost and drives in circles. Is that what you mean?
PJpupp: Forget it. Why don’t we tell everyone what you’ve done since that rainy day at Contact Point Agility?
Gigi: Wow, it’s hard to remember that far back. We collected over 200 pounds of ribbons for RibbonRecycling.com, and right now I’m the spokesdoggie for the Pet Postcard Project. My friend Stormie the Poodle and I are gonna earn food for animalsrule.org and communityschild.org. Community’s Child has a food bank and they give food to over 30 senior citizens a month who need food for their doggies. Animals Rule will use the food for all the dogs they have there in rescue. The ribbon recycling lady will send the ribbons we collected at the DART trial (from all the members there), and kids who are participating in events at therapeutic riding facilites will get them and love them.
PJpupp: That’s great! You are really trying to help those that need it. Do you remember that you saw Mommy and Kokomo in the Family Home Farm Magazine? How cool was that? Why don’t you tell them how the team has done in the dog shows?
Gigi: I think we went to the Hollywood Dog Obedience Club’s AKC trial right after that one.
PJpupp: Yes, you did. Do you remember how you did?
Rickie Roo: I DO! I DO! I did great!
Gigi: Roo, you must be confused. You were okay, not GREAT. Mommy said at that trial our team only had a 75-percent success rate, and usually it’s about 94 percent.
Rickie Roo: Maybe I’m thinking about the show after that – the Belgian Tervuren Club’s Pawso Robles event.
Gigi: That’s the one where our pals from i Love Dogs
had a booth right next to us, and TJ came and watched us compete.
Rickie Roo: OH yeah, I was AWESOME there!
Gigi: No you weren’t, you were okay. Mei and Beau were awesome, ’cause they earned another championship, a MACH2 and Magi was awesome because he double Q’d (qualified) all four days, and Tripled Q’d on one of those days.
Rickie Roo: I was awesome, too!
Gigi: Not really. Kokomo Q’d in every class she was in, and so did Chili Dog.
Rickie Roo: Well then, how did I do?
Gigi: Both you and I only Q’d in 60 percent of our classes. But mommy gave us cookies anyway.
Rickie Roo: I know I was awesome at some show. What show was it?
PJpupp: I bet it was the DART USDAA Agility Trial that was in March.
Rickie Roo: OH YEAH! That’s it! I won the Steeplechase and got a check!
PJpupp: Mommy always likes it when you win checks.
Gigi: I got a check, too!
Rickie Roo: But I was faster than you, so I got a bigger check.
Gigi: That’s okay as long as one of US wins, and not some dog who’s not in our family.
PJpupp: I hear that all of you did great in Performance Grand Prix, too.
Gigi: Yes, mommy was very happy about that. She said we needed our Performance Grand Prix Q’s so we can qualify to run at the Nationals.
Rickie Roo: And I won Performance Grand Prix at the DART USDAA 4 star event, too. And at that event they had teams, and my team, RAT ATTACK, won the bronze medal!
PJpupp: The PM2 Pack did great at that event. Your team got third place, Magi’s team, MUTTNIFICENT, earned fourth, my team Giddy Upp Midnight Storm got fifth, and Beau’s team BEAU BOLTS earned 13th place. All of us Q’d for the Nationals. Oh, and I won the Steeplechase and Magi got third place, so we brought home checks. Since it was Magi’s 10th birthday, mommy was VERY proud of him.
Rickie Roo: Now Gigi, Magi and Mei are all set to go to Kentucky for the Cynosport World Games this fall!
PJpupp: Yes, that’s true. But before that you are going to Texas, Utah and Colorado. And before that, our little Miss LC Pie will be in her very first REAL dog show at the West Los Angeles Obedience Training Club on Mother’s Day weekend.
Gigi: That sounds like fun! Will we be chasing our tails again?
PJpupp: No, not really. But to mommy, it will feel like you are.
