Woo Hoo, Rickie Roo and PM2!

bay team usdaaPJpupp: The pack headed up to Northern California to the city of Prunedale over Labor Day weekend for the Bay Teams USDAA Regional Event. In the i Love Dogs mobile were Gigi, Magi, Rickie Roo,Kokomo, LC and Hobo … oh, and mommy too. She had to drive.

Rickie Roo: I did SUPER DUPER GOOD at the event. I won the Jumpers and Gamblers Performance Versatility Team events for my height and I made the Performance Speed Jumping finals too.

Gigi: I almost made the finals. I found out later I missed getting in by less than a quarter of a second on the stopwatch. Mommy says that it was all her fault though, so it’s not a big deal.

Rickie Roo: I liked Prunedale. Lots of our friends were there, like Luka, a Pyrenean Shepherd who won all sorts of stuff.

PJpupp: I’m glad all of you did well. How did your teammates do?

Rickie Roo: I was on a team with our friend Frito Bandito, who’s a Jack Russell Terrier, and we were called Jumpin Jack Rats. We did great.

rat attack 1 - CopyGigi: I was on a team with Stormie the Poodle and we did great too. Our team was called Odd Couple.

PJpupp: Magi and Kokomo were on teams too, weren’t they?

Gigi: Yes, Magi was paired with Ella the Dalmation, and their name was Funny Haha. Kokomo was with Mini Me, who’s a Jack Russell Terrier, and their team name was Where’s My Chicken?

Rickie Roo: LC thought she was on a team too with her little Jack Russell friend Harley, but they weren’t really a team, they were just there to have puppy fun. And Hobo, he REALLY thought he was on a team with Yankee, a Border Collie.

PJpupp: I thought Yankee was one of the top dogs in the entire country.

Rickie Roo: He is.

PJpupp: How does Hobo even know Yankee?

Rickie Roo: He’s met Yankee lots of times at shows, but at THIS show, when Yankee was running, mommy was putting Hobo away in his crate and then Hobo knocked mommy down, ran amok in the crating area and then joined Yankee on course!

magi in a tizzy blue whirlpool - CopyGigi: It was VERY embarrassing.

Rickie Roo: Hobo chased Yankee all over that course and Yankee just kept doing what his mommy, Olga Chaiko, told him to do. Hobo was having a very fun time.

PJpupp: I bet Mommy wasn’t.

Gigi: She tried to yell at people to step on his leash ’cause he’s a runner, but Hobo dodged them all … just like he did when before we adopted him and the six dog catchers were trying to get him.

PJpupp: Oh no! What did mommy do?

Rickie Roo: She asked the judge (or kinda yelled it), “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Let them finish,” and so she did. Then, when Yankee was done running, Hobo didn’t have anything left to chase, so he wandered away from all the people into the middle of the ring. Mommy walked up and said, “Hobo you sit NOW,” and he did. He looked at her like he was asking why she didn’t just say that in the first place.

Gigi: The judge gave Yankee another chance to run, but since it had only cost him time and he had the maximum points, he didn’t. He still got third place – the winner had maximum points and a time of 41.83, and because of Hobo, Yankee lost some time and had maximum points and a time of 43.13. At the regional events things are VERY competitive, so Hobo was a very bad boy for wanting to play.

Rickie Roo: He almost made Mommy DIE of embarrassment. She was so thankful that Yankee’s mom was super nice and didn’t yell at her.

PJpupp: How did the rest of the event go?

wild-turkeysGigi: It was super fun, but we missed having Mei around. It was just us and mommy this time, because Mei was starting her very first week of high school.

PJpupp: I heard that you guys saw some really neat scenery on the way there and back.

Gigi: We saw some WILD TURKEYS run out in the road in front of us! Mommy had never seen that before and had to stop the van. We also saw lots of farms and lakes, and realized how pretty our state is.

PJpupp: It certainly is. Soon all of you will get to drive all the way across the country to Kentucky and see how pretty the entire U.S. is!

Rickie Roo: WOW we do? Who is going?

emwPJpupp: Well, you are teamed up with your cousin Surfer Girl’s sister Lexi, another Rat Terrier who is from New Jersey AND California (she lives in both areas). Gigi is teamed up with Jackson, a fun Border Collie from Virginia. Magi is teamed up with a Border Collie-Aussie mix named Tizzy who is from Arizona. Chili Dog and Perry are running too.

Gigi: Are we on teams again?

PJpupp: Yes you are, Gigi. Your team is called East Meets West, Rickie Roo’s is called Rat Attack and Magi’s is called Magi’s in a Tizzy. Each of your teams has a neat flag to hang up at the event

Rickie Roo: What are Chili Dog and Perry’s teams called?

PJpupp: They are not on teams, they are only running individual events. Perry is in the Veterans All Around and Chili Dog is in the Junior Handling classes. They are both running with Mei, so we call them Fall Fun at Cynosports on their flag. Also, our friend Cheers the Aussie is coming with us, along with LC and Hobo, who are our team cheerleaders.

Rickie Roo: Cheerleaders? That sounds super fun!

PJpupp: Yes Roo, and your brother Burns will be there as a cheerleader for his brother Thor, too!

chili perryGigi: Maybe LC and Hobo can cheer for Thor too? Along with Burns?

PJpupp: Sure they can! And all three can cheer for our i Love Dogs pal Luka, too!

Gigi: When is the event?

PJpupp: The 2010 USDAA Cynosport World Games are October 12-17.

Gigi: Oh I remember now, that’s the big event we had to qualify to enter. We’ve gone for several years now. It used to be in Arizona. They moved it?

PJpupp: Yes, they moved it to Louisville, Kentucky.

Rickie Roo: I’ve never been to Kentucky before!

PJpupp: Me either, but I’m not going this time. I’m going to stay home and keep Daddy and Mushu Hu company.

Gigi: I bet that’s cause there isn’t much room in the car after you put Rickie Roo, LC, Perry, Magi, Hobo, Cheers, me, Mommy and Cheers’ daddy Robert in the i Love Dogs mobile.

PJpupp: You’d win that bet Gigi! You have always been a very smart girl. We better get off the computer now, it’s time for training!

Gigi and Rickie Roo: OK!

Rickie Roo: But first, check out this pawsome video of how great me (and mommy) did at the event!
