OMD. Just when I thought the fur on my back couldn’t rise up any higher over Michael Vick wanting another dog, I hear that his Eagles teammates have given him a Courage Award. 

At first I heard it wrong and thought he won a Coward Award. Now that made this pooch’s tail wag. A lot.

The Ed Block Courage Award is given to a human who shows “commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.” It’s named after Ed Block, a super pawsome guy who did lots of work on behalf of abused kids. What the heck is wrong with this picture?!

Well, BOL, nobody thinks Michael Vick deserves this award more than…Michael Vick himself. Seriously! Here’s what he said:

“I’ve had to overcome a lot, probably more than one single individual can handle or can bear. You take a look at what I’ve been through, you ask certain people to walk in my shoes, they probably couldn’t do it. Probably 95 percent of the people in this world — because nobody had to endure what I’ve been through, situations I’ve been put in, situations I’ve placed myself in.”

Well boo hoo hoo, Mr. Vick. I’m trying real hard to feel sorry for you, but 100 percent of my sympathy goes to all those innocent pooches you killed in horrible ways, and what they went through, situations they were put in, situations you yourself placed them in.

If Vick really wants to prove he deserves this award, he’ll hand it right back to the Ed Block Foundation and say, “Courageous people don’t kill dogs, and laugh and even get a rush while they’re doing it, like I did.”
