Michael Vick told a group of kids this week that he wishes he could have another dog “more than anything in the world.”
Well, I bet a whole bunch of the dogs he owned wished they could have had another owner more than anything in the world.
Vick, a football player for the Atlanta Falcons at the time, was sent to prison in 2007 for illegal dog fighting and abusing the animals in awful, horrible ways that even the NFL commissioner said were “cruel and reprehensible.” He served 18 months, and is now playing football again for the Philadelphia Eagles.
If you ask me, Michael Vick should never, ever own another dog. (His judge banned him from owning one, thank goodness.) Or cat. Or goldfish. Or any pet he could harm.
As a matter of fact, I think Michael Vick should still be in prison. How could somebody hurt and kill so many innocent dogs and hardly get punished for it? Some people are serving much longer sentences for not hurting anybody but themselves. And that just doesn’t make any sense to me. No sense at all.
So, Michael Vick, go ahead and wish all you want to. Too bad so many of your poor dogs couldn’t live to have wishes of their own.
I agree that Michael Vick should not own any pets, what he did is unthinkable in my book. Should ;he still be in prison? I don’t know. I do know that our justice system could use a good overhaul. Michael Vick shot himself in the foot with his actions, now he will never get to know how truly wonderful, therapeutic and healing a true human/dog bond and relationship is.
Michael Vick should be banned from owning any kind of animal for the rest of his existence.
Why would he want another dog? He had them for profit not companionship. Eagles have yet to sign him for a second year, hope they don’t.
