Is it October? Nope, it’s August (Adopt-A-Dog Day 15)

By Leroy and August

Hey, everybody! Leroy here. Yikes-a-hooty, can you believe we’re halfway through October and Adopt-A-Dog month already?! These dog years sure fly right by, don’t they?

August adoptable dogI’d like you to meet i Love Dogs’ 15th adoptable pooch, a sunny bundle of energy named August. My pawl TJ and I love this gal! She’s so sweet and calm, but she can still keep up with the fastest of us pooches. You’re gonna love her too, I know it. Take it away, August!

AUGUST

Hey, guys! Nice to meet ya. My name’s August, just like my favorite month. I’m about 3 years old, and I’m a terrier mix.

I can’t really remember much about my puppyhood before the cool peeps at the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation (LBWF) rescued me. I just remember being real, real hungry and wandering up and down the streets, looking for any food I could find.

I gotta tell you that I ate some really gross stuff, but hey, I was hungry. And man, I was so bummed. But then one day a real sweet LBWF volunteer found me and fed me. I was so happy that I climbed right into their car without even waiting for an invitation!

Ever since that day, I’ve been living at the LBWF. I love hanging out with my homehounds and playing fetch with the humans. It’s totally hilarious how worn out they get after just a few hours! BOL!

What’s really cool is this agility tube thingie they have here. Most of the other dogs are scared of it, but I learned to run through it right away. Everybody clapped and patted me on the head. That was my best day ever!

August adoptable dog smilingSince I’m such a mellow girl, I get to work with some of the tougher dogs to show them how to get along with people and other pooches. It cracks me up so much – at first they always try to act all mean and macho, but they’re totally puppy dogs on the inside! After a few days hanging with me, they all become a sweet ol’ bunch of love bugs. BOL!

Well, that’s pretty much my story so far. So…do you like to jog or go hiking? Me too! Do you want to get off your couch and start getting in shape? I can totally help you with that! You really need me in your life – and I really need you!

To adopt me, contact the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation. If you tell them that you read about me on the TJ.LA or i Love Dogs website, you’ll get a free puppy starter kit!

Leroy TJ profileLeroy is a 2-year-old “terribull” adopted from a Carson, Calif. shelter by i Love Dogs writer Laura Goldman. When he’s happy, Leroy snorts just like a pig. He really misses his gal pal Sophie, who passed to the Rainbow Bridge last November. But he adores his new pawl Ella and his chew toys (a little too much). Check out Leroy’s other articles!
