Hello, everyone. Sophie here. As you certainly know by now, October is Adopt-A-Dog Month, and TJ has asked all his pawls to help find furever homes for 31 pooches.
i Love Dogs’ 12th featured dog is Antonio, a very romantic, 4-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix.
I got to meet the handsome hound when TJ set the two of us up on a play date. Here’s our conversation that day.
Antonio: Sophie, my darling, you are perhaps the most breathtaking puppy I have ever had the pleasure to have met.
Sophie: ”Puppy?!” Come on, Antonio – I’m something like 84 dog years old.
Antonio: Ah, do not lie to me, my sweet. You cannot possibly be a dog year over seven.
Sophie: Wow, thank you, Antonio. I’m flattered. I guess TJ’s Health Bites help keep me young.
Antonio: And your coat! I’ve never laid eyes on such an exquisite pattern, not even on the most beautiful cow in Guernsey.
Sophie: GRRrrrrr. Cow?
Antonio: Beautiful cow, cara mia.
Sophie: Mmmmkay. So, Antonio, what do you like to do for fun?
Antonio: You know those green bouncy things? I love to chase them. For hours. And lovely lady dogs? I love to chase them. For hours.
Sophie: GRRRrrrrrr.
Antonio: Oh, but my darling Sierra, all my chasing would come to an end for you, my one and only.
Sophie: My name is Sophie! GRRRRRrrrrrRRR.
Antonio: Oh dear. All right, Sophie, I must confess. My heart belongs to my ladylove Sierra.
Sophie: No problem, Antonio. I could never break Leroy’s heart, anyway.
Antonio: Well, great, then! But we can still be friends, can’t we?
Sophie: Of course!
Antonio: I am so glad. Shall we dance?
Sophie: Yes, let’s! But no dipping, please – I’ve got a touch of arthritis.
What a fun doggie date! Antonio needs a fun and active furever home, maybe one with a pooch or two he can dance with. To adopt this debonair dog, contact the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation. If you mention my pawl TJ or i Love Dogs, you’ll get a FREE puppy starter kit!

Sophie was almost 84 dog years old when she passed to the Rainbow Bridge last November. She was adopted by i Love Dogs writer Laura Goldman in 1998 from a Hawthorne, Calif. shelter. She loved long naps, looking out the front windows and most of all, her best buddy Leroy. Check out her other articles!
